MUSIC TEST: To enter a sound test mode (where you can listen to
all the music and sound in the game), start a new game and put your name
as 'MUSIC_ON'.
DELETE SAVE GAME DATA: To delete all the save game data, enter
'DEL_DATA' as your name.
SOLDIERS: The game manual doesn't tell you how to level up soldiers.
But here is the formula: A single soldier get 2 points of experience when
the unit wins a fight. If a unit has 4 team of soldiers (3*4), the experience
is 24 per one fight. When the experience comes to 100, then the soldier become
a fighter/amazon. You must have spare fighter/amazon equipment for a soldier
to upgrade. Thanks to Nagisa Futagami and UnOfficial Ogre Fan Page for this
information.
FINDING ITEMS: When you get the item that lets you find hidden
items (I forget what it's called, but it looks like 2 sticks, it's something
rod or stick), first clear a stage, then save, and go to that stage. Use
it. Remember the location of the item that it finds. Then reset and find
that item yourself without using the rod. Keep doing this for every stage
until you clean them out of hidden items.
GORGON: In chapter 4, you will encounter a gorgon class boss that
always strikes first, doing an attack that turns everyone to stone. To avoid
this attack, put three characters that use shields in the front row, they
will resist it, and nobody will be turned to stone.
STONED CHARACTERS: They turn back to normal after beating a stage,
so don't waste money on revive stones or going to the witch.
UNDEAD: If you don't have spare equipment for an undead character,
a dead character won't turn undead after beating a stage. This is actually
a plus if you don't want undead characters.
ALIGNMENT: To get a chaotic unit, stick chaotic class characters
together, and keep training them so that they are 2-3 levels higher than
everyone else on your army. Have them win as many rounds as possible and
killing as few enemies as possible, and watch their alignment plummet. Getting
lawful units is easy, just keep your units with lawful characters and fight.
Even if you over-level them, their alignment won't plummet.
To balance alignment out (i.e. turn a high lawful to a neutral or a high
chaotic to a neutral), stick the high lawfuls in with high chaotics, and
their alignments will go opposite ways, til they are neutral. So if you have
a high lawful ninja that you want to change to a ninja master, first stick
him with a very high chaotic unit, keep battling until his alignment is low
enough that the others are still chaotic, and if the chaotic characters are
starting to become neutral, then move the ninja to a different chaotic unit.
CHAOS FRAME: Yes the Chaos Frame is in this game, even though
it is hidden (it's not mentioned in the manual or the tutorial mode!). The
chaos frame depends on a few things:
1) What choices you make (i.e. whether Dio or Ankiseth live)
2) Liberating towns. Send lawful units to towns with a 66-100 morality, chaotic
units to a 0-33 morality, and neutral units to a 34-65 morality. That will
raise CF. Do the opposite and CF will plummet.
3) What route choices you make. If you go to Blue Bascilica, your CF goes down
10 points, but if you go to Ptia instead, it goes up 10 points.
LEGION TUTORIAL: When you reach chapter 3 for the first time,
Deneb's tutorial will be increased to include stuff on legions and even a
legion test stage.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRICK Every once in a while your character has a birthday. You can tell this by
going to the Hugo Report on the map section and clicking on the events
section and going to the date you entered in as your birthday in the
beginning of the game. Here there will be a thing that says Happy Birthday.
When you view the scene it will show different people sitting around the
table congradulating you on your birthday the it shows a little guy bring a
present. This present can be something real good and the cool part is you
actually get to keep this item.
55-ITEM CODE
Brought to you by Homeega3@aol.com
1) Create a group, making sure you have a character that can only hold one item.
2) Fill up that group's inventory except the last 2 spaces. Any item will do.
3) Next, place the item you want 55 of in the last slot leaving the
second to last spot open.
4) Remove the character that can hold one item.
5) Take the item that you want 55 of out of that unit. (You can replace the character now.)
6) Then go to your item list. It should say you have 55 of that item
equipped and only the # you started out with in your inventory (Ex: Urn of Chaos- 55/01).
7) After, sell one more of that item you started with (Ex: If you started
with 1, then you sell 2). On your item list it should now read 55 in your inventory and
55 equipped (Ex: Urn of Chaos- 55/55).
8) Finally, exit the organize screen then go back to the organize
screen. You should now have 55 in your inventory and none equipped (Ex: Urn
of Chaos- 00/55).
